Statistically Speaking...

The Australian Bureau of Statistics is a fantastic resource for students. You can find current national statistics, including Australia's Population, Key National Indicators, Census Data, the Consumer Price Index or CPI, the Labour Force, and National Accounts Releases. Other useful information include the National Regional Profiles where you can drill down until you see the data available on Cairns and the Far North of Queensland.

The ABS offers Key Products including Australian Social Trends, Measure's of Australia's Progress, Australian Yearbooks, Australian Economic Indicators, and other papers & articles. There's even a really useful Google Search embedded link which automatically delivers current statistical headlines from around the nation.

Themed links include information on Economy, Environment & Energy, Industry, People and Regional. The First Visit? page is a great introduction and will help guide you in terms of where to find what you need. There's even a dedicated page for Students. As always, HELP is just a click away. You can contact the ABS or just ask your library.

Where are the statistics on where people live - rural or urban.
I looked - but couldn't find.
