Students are welcome to borrow up to 15 items at a time. Standard loan period for books is 4 weeks. Videos, magazines & DVDs are 1 week loans.

If you need longer, you can renew your items up to twice provided they are not reserved for others. Don't forget, extended loan periods apply to remote library users. Just contact us for assistance.

How do I get stuff that I have borrowed back to TAFE? I live miles away and can't afford to post it.

Thanks for your message. If you're a remote student without easy access to a campus library, then we will happily post your materials to you at home and will include a Reply Paid, Self Addressed envelope for you to return them when they're due.

Feel free to call us on 07 4042 2539 or email us at Cairns.Library@deta.qld.gov.au for further information or check out the other postings on remote library services in the labels section of the blog.

I want to borrow some of your DVDs but it says that you only get them for a week. It somethimes takes a week for things to get here. Can I get them for longer?

Absolutely. Just give us a call on 07 4042 2539 or email at Cairns.Library@deta.qld.gov.au and chat with us about where you are and what you need and we will ensure a full one week loan period for any DVDs you'd like to borrow not including postage timeframes. The same is true for books. We will ensure you receive a full four week loan period not inlcuding the time it takes for the items to be sent and returned. Thanks :)
